Next, the Rangers make a trade for a starting pitcher that could very well save their postseason hopes. To the NL East, Outfielder Jason Heyward makes a game saving catch on Monday night to give the Braves a win over the Mets, the Marlins call up outfield prospects Christian Yelich and Jake Marisnick, and the Nationals fire their hitting coach Rick Eckstein. In the ‘First to Third’ segment, we talk Pittsburgh closer trouble with Jason Grilli leaving Monday’s game early and OF Alfonso Soriano possibly returning to the pinstripes.
