The Rochester RazorSharks inched closer to their championship aspirations as they defeated the Lake Michigan Admirals 115-93 in front of 4,916 fans on a Wednesday night at the Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester Community War Memorial.
Jerice Crouch finished with five points, 10 assists, and five steals and passed former RazorShark great Lazarus Sims for the all-time RazorSharks’ lead in assists, as Jerice’s current career total now sits at 441.
“It’s a credit to the team over the years and the guys around me that can score,” said Crouch. “I can help give the guys good looks, but the credit goes to them for finishing.”
The RazorSharks (16-1) are now that much closer to the playoffs and are getting in the championship mindset.
“With the playoffs right around the corner, we need to try to get better,” said Melvin Council, who finished with 18 points and four assists. “We need to treat every game like its for the championship.”
With Keith Friel being placed on the injured reserve, Johnny Mayhane has inserted himself into the starting lineup with force, as he finished with 19 points, seven rebounds, and three assists versus Lake Michigan.
“I have been getting in the flow and keeping the same approach, trying not to take bad shots,” said Mayhane. “But it’s a team game and we have to pick it up and play some better defense and start grabbing more rebounds.”
