Epiphany Woodson leads Charlotte in scoring at 14.4 points per game. Woodson has scored in double-figures nine times this season. Jennifer Hailey is second on the team in scoring at 12.7 points per game. Hailey leads the team in rebounding at 8.6 boards per game. Gabby Tyler, who scored 13 points at Ohio State, is third on the team in scoring at 8.6 points per game. She also averages 5.6 boards per game. Jai Forney is fourth on the team in scoring at 7.9 points per game. Amanda Dowe, who grabbed 14 rebounds in the 49ers’ last home game, is second on the team in rebounding at 8.5 boards per game. She is sixth on the team in scoring at 6.1 points per game. Freshman Hillary Sigmon, who has recorded three double-figure scoring games off the bench this season, averages 6.4 points per game. Sigmon led the 49ers with 14 points at #12 Ohio State, Monday. Ny Hammonds, who averages 5.3 points per game, leads the team in assists with 36. Freshman Ayanna Holmes has started six games this season. Holmes averages four points per game. She has recorded two double-figure scoring games this season. Katie Meador is averaging a career-high 4.4 points per game.
This game will mark the 29th meeting between Charlotte and North Carolina A&T. The 49ers have a 21-7 series lead. Charlotte has won 18 of the last 20 meetings between the two teams. North Carolina A&T defeated Charlotte, 79-70, in their last meeting in Halton Arena which came in the second round of the 2010 WNIT, March 21, 2010. Charlotte defeated North Carolina A&T, 89-58, in their last meeting which came at North Carolina A&T, November 30, 2010. Thirteen different 49ers scored in that game led by former 49ers standouts Kendria Holmes and Shannon McCallum who each scored 13 points. The 49ers are 36-9 against teams in the MEAC. Charlotte has played MEAC teams Coppin State, Florida A&M, Hampton, Maryland-Eastern Shore, North Carolina A&T, North Carolina Central, Savannah State and South Carolina State in the past.
