Freshman Keri Soppe was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Soppe scored a career-high 12 points to help Richmond defeat ACC foe N.C. State in Raleigh. In just her third career start, the Rochester, N.Y. native posted career-bests in assists (7) and rebounds (6), while shooting 50 percent (5-10) from the floor.
With the win, the Spiders improved to 8-2 on the season, the program’s best mark through 10 games since 2008.
Genevieve Okoro was a two-time Rookie of the Week recipient last year and Rachael Bilney garnered the first A-10 weekly honors for the Spiders this season with a Player of the Week nod Nov. 21.
