Richmond hosts UNC Greensboro Saturday at 12 p.m. at the Robins Center Saturday.
The Latest:
• Richmond went on a 10-0 run to get within 55-50 with seven minutes left, but Virginia prevailed, 69-56, Sunday afternoon at the Robins Center.
• Senior guard Abby Oliver poured in a game-high 23 points and dished a career-high six assists. Double-double machine Genevieve Okoro nearly missed her third opportunity for repeat performance with 11 points and nine boards. Rachael Bilney followed with seven points.
• Richmond is playing in its first game since Sunday, as this was exam week for the Spiders.
• Richmond leads all Division I schools with a 85 percent mark from the foul line, and sunk a season-high 22-of-25 attempts against VCU Dec.1. The Spiders recorded their best game percentage-wise at the line against Virginia (12-for-13, 92.3%). Richmond has three players averaging double figures in Oliver (15.5 ppg), Okoro (12.1 ppg) and Rachael Bilney (12.7 ppg).
• Richmond’s 78-77 nailbiter win over VCU on Dec. 1 was the closest margin of victory for the Spiders since a 42-41 win over Hofstra Nov. 29, 2009.
• Richmond travels to North Carolina State Dec. 15 in its second matchup against an ACC opponent. It will be the first out-of-state trip for the Spiders since its Nov. 25 game at Florida Gulf Coast. Richmond has enjoyed playing three of the last four games at home. Richmond’s other “away” game was at cross-town rival VCU.
• The Wolfpack is the second ACC opponent in three games the Spiders will face. Richmond dropped a 69-56 decision to visiting Virginia Dec. 4 at the RobinsCenter.
• Richmond pulled out the 81-75 win Nov. 20, 2010 at the Robins Center in theseries’ last meeting. Oliver had 19 points and Kristina King tallied 10.
• Last season’s victory was Richmond’s first in the series. The Wolfpack won the first meeting, 95-76, Nov. 14, 1998 in Raleigh.
• The Spiders are well connected to N.C. State as Amber Nichols is a Raleigh native and Amber Battle’s parents both had successful basketball careers for the Wolfpack. Father Alvin Battle won a National Championship in 1983.

• Richmond is 1-0 in the series against the Spartans as it took the series’ only meeting Dec. 9, 1983 in a 82-72 win at the Robins Center.
• Richmond Lately: The Spiders are coming off a 69-56 loss to instate foe, Virginia Sunday. Abby Oliver scored a season-high 23 points, while Genevieve Okoro added 11. • UNCG is led by Breonna Patterson’s 12.0 ppg, while Jarae Savage scores 9.0 ppg. The Spartans’ two wins have come against N.C. Central (70-53 win) and Samford (61-53 win).
