MADISON, Wis. – Lorreal Jones posted a second consecutive double-double, including a game- and career-high 16 rebounds, and Saint Louis dominated a taller Wisconsin team on the boards before the Badgers escaped the Kohl Center with a 48-46 victory Monday night.

Jones scored 13 points and tied her career high of three steals. She grabbed a game-high six offensive boards as Saint Louis (2-6) earned a 21-6 advantage in that category, part of the Billikens’ 45-33 overall rebounding edge. SLU has outrebounded all eight opponents this season.

Jones, who leads the Atlantic 10 Conference in rebounding and offensive rebounding, registered a double-digit rebound total for a seventh time in eight games this season. She has three double-doubles this season and eight in her career.

Mallory Eggert netted a season-high 10 points and collected seven rebounds (four offensive), and Kim Bee equaled her season best with eight rebounds. Desirae Ball scored eight points, while Janisha Gearlds tallied a game-high five assists and tied her season rebounding high of five. Gearlds moved past Julie Goessling into sixth place on SLU’s career assists chart.

The Billikens committed a season-low 11 turnovers.

Taylor Wurtz scored a game-high 16 points, including 11 in the second half, and gathered nine rebounds for Wisconsin (4-5). Wurtz was 4-of-6 from 3-point range. Ashley Thomas had 14 points and seven rebounds.

The Billikens travel to Boca Raton, Fla., to face Florida Atlantic Saturday, Dec. 10. Tip time is 2 p.m. (CT).
